All of these pictures were taken in June 1968.
My father met Jim Foley in the 1950s, I am pretty sure at Goose Bay air station, around 1950-51, as my father was flying transatlantic with the US Air Force (Military Air Transport Service, MATS). Our family visited with Jim Foley and his family in the summer of 1968.
Black and white images were taken with a Rolleiflex 6cm camera and the color images are Kodachrome and were taken with either a Canon III rangefinder camera (35mm) or a Leica IIIf rangefinder camera (35mm).
A little more about our family: After 1968, my father retired from the US Air Force (he had been stationed at Hanscom Field, near Boston, MA) in 1969 with 21 years' service, including a full tour of duty as navigator in B-24s over Germany in late 1944. We moved to near St. Paul, Minnesota, where my Dad was born and raised. My parents had four children: Charlie (1959), James (me; 1961), Julie (1962), and Jon (1965). We were all raised in Minnesota, mainly. My sister died in 1997. My brother Charlie lives in Minnesota still. I live with my family in White Salmon, Washington, about 70 miles east of Portland, Oregon. My brother Jon lives in New Mexico with his family. My brothers and I are all retired now. My father passed away in 2010; and my mother passed away in 2020.
