My trip to France and Italy in 1999 again included my Mom (she loves France!). We again flew
British Airways through LHR and again they lost my bag. This time, we flew mid-week and spent
a couple of days in Paris before taking the TGV to Avignon to pick up our car. From Avignon, we
again spent a week in the gîtes at Domaine Raspail-Ay in Gigondas, before moving to Bonnieux and sharing a
big Gîtes with Jeanne and Steve Mason and her family: Her Dad, Mom, and Sister Anne. Then, my
Mom and I drove to Florence in Italy and spent a week in and around Florence, mostly seeing Florence
(the most beautiful city in the world!). We then drove to Chianti and spent a week at an Agriturismo,
in the tiny hamlet of Fietri, in the heart of the Chianti wine region. From there, we toured Tuscany and
Umbria, seeing: Montepulciano, Montalcino, Cortona, Spello, Siena, San Gimignano, and many other
towns and villages. We then flew home from Rome.
