I figured out that my great uncle John married Ruth
Victoria Peterson, circa 1920. She died in
childbirth with what would have been their first child,
in 1921. I found her grave online but couldn't
find it in Hillside Cemetery, where it's supposed to be.
She's listed in the 1910 census (Prentice, WI) as
daughter, age 12 in the John and Kristina Peterson
family (both born in Sweden), and in the 1920 census as
daughter in law in the Hans Christian Blilie household,
age 21.
|
After the
cemetery in Ogema, I went through town (see First
Lutheran Church) and then east about 5 miles to Timm's
Hill, where I walked up the highest point in Wisconsin.
|
Views of the
old Blilie farm, Ogema, Wisconsin From
there, I drove north towards Prentice and stopped at the
site of the Hans Christian and Regine Blilie farm.
It's at the corner of Morner Road and Prentice
Road. Hans Christian Blilie owned the north 1/2 of
the NE 1/4-section of 24 of Township 35, Range 1 East in
1890. He did not own it in the 1920 plat book.
