Our grub, before starting out	A stop on our way to Winton. Actually, water in Minnesota departs in three directions: The arctic Ocean via Canada, the Atlantic via the Great Lakes, and the Gulf of Mexico via the Mississippi River.	Our canoe being towed from Winton northeast over Fall Lake to the start of "The Long Portage"	First Stop: Canadian customs on an island or point only an hour or so paddle from the entry point on Basswood Lake	On our first day on Basswood Lake, we didn't reach our destination until late and pitched the tent in the dark. This is how it looked in the morning

Fishing was so good that we could wait until a short time before mealtime to set out after them!	Clouds starting to build up. But we had no severe weather or heavy rain in the entire two weeks.
