My Dad was stationed in Japan for much of 1952 and 1953. He brought a 1946(?) Chrysler with
him (the USAF paid to move him) and got around in Japan quite a bit. I'm sure having a car helped
him make many friends amongst his Air Force colleagues. He wanted to climb Mt. Fuji (12,388 ft,
trail to the top) but never could convince anyone to go with him and he didn't want to go alone
(which was probably prudent, since he had no climbing experience.)
The pictures are in the order in which my Dad put them into the slide carousels (except some obviously
out of place ones that I grouped with like photos.) These are all scanned from the original
Kodachrome slides. Mostly, the captions here are exactly what my Dad wrote on the slides frames.
I did not crop the slides.
