Jamie on his special
chair at White Salmon that Anne gave him:
This
year we had a lovely 13 days in Washington and Oregon. At
the beginning, it was very smoky from fires in Oregon and
British
Columbia.
We hardly saw the mountains for the first week. We got to
see Kevin and Karen the first weekend, along with Jeanne,
Steve,
and Anne. We walked the local neighborhood hike that
Jeanne and Anne have begun establishing and got to meet our new
neighbors
in the Houses' old place: Alex and Shahnnen. They
are turning the place into a vineyard and winery. We hiked
Wahclella
Falls
hike; and Jamie saw his dipper again this year -- in the exact
same spot! We then went to Cannon Beach for two nights at
the
Surfsand
Resot, which was lovely and cool: 65 deg. F, after 100+
deg. F at
White Salmon. It got to 90+ deg. F inside the house.
The
cool at the
beach felt great!
Jeanne
and Steve organized a neighborhood cocktail party the Friday we
got back; and we got meet many of our neighbors.
Next
Eric and Allison visited and we had a lovely day visiting with
them, including the Big Pondorosa walk, a concert in
the
evening in White Salmon, and dinner at the Mexican restaurant.
We
also hiked Lookout Mountain, and to "The Bench" near
Allen Oaks with Chris and Anne and their dogs. Much too
soon, it was
time
to head back to Minnesota.
